Hello Travelers,
After a lot of thought and consideration, I decided to return to the US. I was hoping beyond hope that the border would open so I could walk the border into Shenzhen. There was a recent travel bubble between Macau and Guangdong, but it was only open for locals. Meaning, I could not get into Guangdong through Macau. It is looking like the only way in would be a charter flight from the states. Another issue that arose with staying in Hong Kong is that my Mainland China Visa expired, so in addition to all the other factors, this was a significant part of my decision to head back to the US.
I was self-isolating, not quarantining, so I did not stay solely in the camper my parents were letting me use. I went for walks, went into my parents' house to shower, do laundry, and refill my water bottles. I wore a mask when I was inside their home except for the shower. If I were on a walk, I would put my mask on as I get near people and then take it off once I was clear. It still feels weird to be in the US; I have been gone for so long that it seems strange. I have realized that with my travels, I have changed a lot as a person. I think I will save that for a different blog.
